About Me

I am currently a science instructional coach at a low income school northwest of Houston, Texas. I am currently in my 9th year of education. I graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah with a degree in International Relations and decided I wanted to be a teacher too late into my degree. I received an Alternative Certification and planned on teaching Social Studies but got thrown into a Math and Science classroom my first year. I LOVED it. I am so glad that I went this route.

I graduated with my master's in Middle School Math and Science Teaching from the University of Houston last year. 

I believe in inquiry-based and constructivist learning. The students need to discover for themselves to retain what they have learned. I am not perfect in those styles of teaching, but I am working on it. 

I am married to my high school sweetheart who is a high school speech and debate coach. We have a 5 year old daughter and a 2 year old son who we absolutely adore. 

In my free time, I like to plan lessons (for real), read, scrapbook, watch television (Netflix is my hero), and play board games with my family.
